CJS Members Exclusive Dance Performance Offer!

Hello CJS members!!

We are excited to inform you about an upcoming DanceWorks performance for which CJS members will receive discounted pricing: Flicker at 8pm on Friday, Feb 9th and Saturday,10th at Harbour Front Centre.

This is an aboriginal contemporary dance performance by the Vancouver-based Indigenous dance company, Dancers of Damelahamid of the Gitxsan Nation. The Gitxsan, “people of the river of mists”, are part of the coastal group of cultures renowned for their history of masked dance. Through movement, narrative, mask and elaborate regalia, they bridge the ancient with a living tradition in this Toronto premiere.

DanceWorks began as a collective of independent dance artists in 1977 and is now Toronto’s leading presenter of independent dance.
For anybody interested in the performance, please go to the below link and input the Canada-Japan Society member exclusive promotional code  CanadaJapan.Using this code, the price will be $18 per ticket compared with the standard price of $28-$42.25.

If you have any questions please contact Aya at aya@cjst.ca

Below is a video from the dance performance.

We hope to see you there so please take advantage of this exciting opportunity!

As Canada Japan Society supports a mutual understanding of Canadian and Japanese culture, this is a great opportunity for CJS members to learn about Canadian aboriginal culture and the intersection with contemporary Canadian culture.

Dancers of Damelahamid of the Gitxsan Nationによる公演です。
