Wednesday, September 25: The CJS Presents "MOVING" お引っ越し

The Canada-Japan Society is proud to re-introduce our WINDOWS ON JAPANESE CULTURE PROGRAM, using media to bring to light aspects of Japanese culture. Our program will begin on Wednesday, September 25th with "MOVING" お引っ越し, Shinji Somai's award-winning tale of a young girl's passage to maturity, set amongst the background of Kyoto's dazzling festival season.

This adaptation by director Somai (Kaza-Hana, Wait and See) of Hiko Tanaka's novel focuses on changing Japanese family values during the 1990's while taking the audience on a captivating journey of Japanese cultural beauty and traditional festivals.  It stars Kiichi Nakai (Love Letter, Hero, The Magic Hour), Junko Sakurada and Tomoko Tabata (Blood and Bones) and won 8 acting and technical awards.

This is a FREE event that will take place at the Office of the Consulate General of Japan in Toronto (located at 77 King Street West near King and Bay streets).  The CJS is grateful for their help and support.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unlike similar events held by CJS, people interested in attending MUST RSVP in order to attend - anyone showing up at the event without having RSVP'd will be turned away.  To attend, please send an e-mail with the full name and e-mail addressees of all attendees to jeff@cjst.ca by September 20th.  We hope to see you there!
