The 2013 CJS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING is Thursday, June 20th!

The Canada Japan Society cordially invites you to our 2013 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM).

The event this year will take place in the offices of McMillan LLP, featuring a beautiful view of Toronto from the 44th floor! The evening will start off with the AGM. An overview of what the CJS has done this past year will be given, along with the goals for the upcoming year and future. Other topics will include the important election of the 2013/14 Board of Directors (non-members will not be allowed to vote).

This will be followed by a special live demonstration about GEISHA makeup and kimono dressing. Come see how the GEISHA’s famous makeup is done in an informal and up close setting!  Photographs are welcome.

And after that it’s our always popular ALL INCLUSIVE RECEPTION featuring great JAPANESE FOOD and DRINKS…and yes, that includes sushi.

Cultural Exchange, Japanese Food, Drinks & Fun at ICHIMOKUKAI This Thursday!

The early summer heat is here and its time to relax and “chill” with some nice cold beverages, great Japanese food, and lots of chances for informal cultural and language exchange at the Canada Japan Society’s ICHIMOKUKAI (IMK) this Thursday at Manpuku!

Ichimokukai literally means the "first Thursday meeting" and since 1995 it has been the Canada Japan Society of Toronto's monthly social event, naturally on the first Thursday of every month. It is a great place to make new friends, practice your English and/or Japanese, informally network, learn more about life in Canada and Japan, and most of all have fun! Our attendees are usually around 50 percent Canadian and 50 percent Japanese, all with a common interest or connection with Japan. At IMK you will receive special food and drink discounts, get to talk to lots of interesting people, and have the chance to win some exciting door prizes. All are naturally encouraged to informally practice their English and/or Japanese if they so wish!

We hope to see you there! Come early to ensure a good seat!
