Our friends at The Japan Foundation are proud to present four films by Kazuhiro Soda, who creates observational documentary films according to the philosophy that "a filmmaker should minimize preconceived ideas and should simply learn from the crude reality captured on camera," encouraging the viewer to form their own opinions about the images they see with little interference from the filmmaker. Soda will be present during the four-day festival to introduce his work, including the Canadian premiers of Theatre 1 and Theatre 2, and to discuss his method of observational filmmaking.
Screenings are at Innis Town Hall on the downtown U of T campus and admission is free. For more information, please visit The Japan Foundation website. Please note that RSVP is required: jftor.org/whatson/rsvp.php
