November 7, 2013: The Last Ichimoku-kai of 2013 Features the Return of LIVE JAZZ!
Come on out on Thursday, November 7 for Ichimoku-kai (IMK) at Manupuku Japanese Restaurant. With the legendary CJS Bonenkai ("end of year party") coming up in December, this will be the last IMK of 2013 and will feature LIVE JAZZ too! So please join us for a great evening of cultural exchange, "oishii" Japanese food and drinks, door prizes, and a special jazz performance by Yuko Hase and Kyoko Nakabayashi!
Ichimoku-kai (IMK) literally means the “first Thursday meeting” and since 1995 it has been the Canada-Japan Society’s signature monthly social event, naturally taking place on the first Thursday of every month. It is a great place to informally network, make new and interesting friends, practise your Japanese or English, and – most of all – have a good time! Usually, half the attendees are Japanese and half are Canadian, all with an interest in or connection to Japan. Attendees receive special food and drink discounts and have the chance to win some exciting door prizes.
IMK will also be the last chance to get special, discounted tickets to our ROM FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE: PLANET ASIA event on November 8. There are only a handful of tickets left at the moment - and they might be gone by IMK - so if you are interested in attending that event, e-mail markh@cjst.ca before IMK to reserve yours.
Finally, be the first to hear details of the CJS BONENKAI coming up in December. Participate in our door prize draw at IMK and you might be lucky enough to win a free ticket to that event!
Thank you - and we hope to see you at IMK! (And don't forget to come early for a good seat...)
